Eyelash extension – the most popular methods. What is the best way to make your eyelashes beautiful?

False eyelashes are comfortable. They save time that every woman loses every day to do her make-up. But if you decide to extend eyelashes, you must also choose the method. 1: 1 extension or maybe volume? Check what are the differences.

This treatment was popularized by celebrities. Eyelash extensions are today one of the most commonly performed procedures in beauty salons. Many women do it because they want to look better. Others notice their time-saving qualities – false eyelashes are meant to replace mascara.

Everyday comfort

Why to extend the eyelashes instead of using the false ones? They are also popular, but they are chosen by women with naturally beautiful lashes who want to emphasize their look only on special occasions. Most women choose a professional treatment in a beauty salon. This is a more convenient way that gives long-lasting results – on average a few weeks, even up to 2 months if we care for the lashes properly. This means that thanks to one treatment we can look perfectly 24 hours a day, without the need to use mascara and damaging make-up removal. Eyelash extensions provide comfort that neither mascara not false lashes provide.

What are the most common types of lash extensions?

  1. NATURAL – they are made of Siberian mink fur, which is extremely thin, light and delicate, and thus provides very natural effect. Mink fur eyelashes don’t overload our lashes, they have similar thickness and varied length. This is not an option suitable for vegans and people who are allergic to, for example, the fur of some animals.
  2. SILK – they are obtained from silk proteins, which means they are also of animal origin. They have a very natural twist, are light and do not overload the hairs, so the effect is also quite natural. The main disadvantage is that the eyelashes need to be combed, because silk hair can be deformed, for example, during sleeping.
  3. SYNTHETIC – they are made of plastic. They are supposed to imitate natural eyelashes, but due to their regular shape, they look less natural. The advantage is a vast array of colours, volumes, lengths and even curls. Synthetic eyelashes do not sensitize, but they are less elastic than natural ones and can be tangled.

Eyelash extensions – the most popular methods

At the first visit in a beauty salon, it’s always good to confront your expectations with reality. The professional eyelash stylist will help to match the type of eyelashes, their shape, colour and thickness to your face. This way you will avoid an exaggerated effect. Unfortunately, it involves a higher cost, but it also depends on the method chosen. Which is the best?

1: 1 method

The simplest, the cheapest and probably the most popular method. The popularity of 1: 1 eyelash extensions does not diminish over the years. What is this procedure?

In this case, only individual eyelashes are used. It involves gluing one false eyelash on one natural eyelash. Depending on your needs and how much you want to thicken eyelashes, you can attach them to every or only some of the eyelashes. The effect will then be more or less natural, just like when we use hairs of different thickness, length and colour.

2: 1 method

2D eyelashes is the first of the volume methods. It gives a lot more expressive effects than 1: 1 extensions, but, of course, it also involves a higher cost.

In 2D method two lashes are glued to a single natural eyelash – one is glued on top and the other on the bottom. Due to the fact that one natural eyelash has to handle two artificial ones, for this method it’s recommended to use eyelashes from mink fur.

3: 1 method

Another variation on volume eyelash extension is 3D eyelashes. In fact, it has both followers (very expressive effects) and opponents (it overloads the eyelashes). As in the case of the previous method, the 3: 1 extension is based on adding three false hairs to one natural eyelash. Also in this case, it is recommended to use natural, lighter lashes made of fur. They should not be glued to every eyelash, but only to those that will keep this load. The effect is spectacular.

Mixed extensions

Option for the undecided? It’s rather a great solution when we want the result that matches our needs. In this case – mixed eyelash extension wins.

The mixed method, as the name suggests, involves glueing false eyelashes to hairs in various configurations. The lashes can be attached to the thickest eyelashes using the 3: 1 method – three false eyelashes per one natural one. Somewhere only two eyelashes are attached, and in other places only one. Thanks to this, the effects are extremely natural, although the procedure requires more work.
