What’s behind the Eyelash Perm Procedure?

Apart from false extensions and tinting, eyelash lift (perm) is another way to enhance your lashes. During the procedure, your natural lashes are curled, their shape is enhanced. The lash perm effects last up to 8 weeks. What does the treatment involve and what results can you hope for?
What eyelash perm involves?
The procedure lifts lash roots and enhances the shape through applying a few products. The included substances enable the change in lash structure, strengthen and nourish. Lash lift has the edge over other procedures because it doesn’t weaken or weigh down natural eyelashes.
Eyelash perm steps
The lash lifting lasts from 45 to 60 minutes. It is a painless procedure which starts with putting protective pads under the eyes. Next, a technician uses silicone pads to shape the lashes. The silicone pads comes in various sizes, depending on the length of lashes and desired lift effect. The shorter the lashes, the smaller the pads (to be able to lift the very roots of lashes). The lash artist wraps lashes around the silicone pads and applies two gels. The first one affects the lash structure and makes cysteine compounds move and consequently change the shape of lashes permanently. The other gel nourishes and stimulates lash reconstruction. Each one is left in for around 15-20 minutes and then it’s washed off. Finally, the technician may apply a moisturising serum or fixer and keratin conditioner. The customer takes the latter home to use for seven days after the treatment.
You can have eyelash perm done every 4-6 weeks (it’s how long the lash growth cycle lasts).
Eyelash lift – results
After the treatment, you get a striking lash curl, longer-looking lashes, moisture boost, strengthening, softness and shine. The effects last throughout the entire lash life cycle, namely, up to 8 weeks. Not all lashes grow at the same time, therefore, the best effect should be visible for 4-6 weeks.
Eyelash lift – contraindications
Even though lash perm doesn’t worsen the state of lashes, there are some contraindications, including extremely sparse and fragile lashes or very thick and stiff lashes, as well as eye diseases and allergies.
